About Wendy
A trauma therapist, teacher of clinicians, and creator of The ARISE Method™
For over two decades, Wendy Byrd has been doing the same work in different rooms: helping people heal what hurt them and come home to who they actually are. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist, she is co-founder of Connected Heart Therapy in Austin and a nationally recognized voice in EMDR and trauma care. She has trained and consulted with hundreds of clinicians, and her work has been featured on Good Morning America, USA Today, and Behavioral Health Today.
She is also the creator of The ARISE Method, built from a pattern she kept seeing in the people who came to her: years of therapy elsewhere, real effort, and still no access to the deep trauma-focused healing that creates lasting change. ARISE brings the depth of Wendy’s clinical methodology to a wider audience, weaving together memory reconsolidation, somatic practice, and the soul-level work that traditional talk therapy often doesn’t have room for.
Whether you work with her one-on-one in therapy or through ARISE, the work goes the same direction: not toward managing what hurt you, but toward the life you were meant to live.
